My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Nashville and the surrounding area. Be strong. Add Comment RWA - here I come... 04/29/2010
So, I did it! I registered for the National Conference in Nashville. I'm excited... can't stop talking about it. I'm boring people. Too bad for them. My hubby's joining me, he's going to try and see the Titans in summer camp. I've never been before, I don't know anyone there..Yeah, I'm a little nervous, probably get worse when I get there. Oh well, still excited. Talk soon...time for some sleep. Revising 04/18/2010
Rewriting cleverly masks itself as revising. Yeah, you heard it here first. Revising, reshmizing. I'm tired and grumpy, BUT I'm done. The revision is fini. I'm gonna think about some of the sweeping changes I incorporated, and, hopefully, not begin another rewrite tomorrow. I just wanna start writing something else. I actually have something else already started and want to continue. I want to think about different people, different problems. AND - I can't believe I didn't post something about this earlier - I am officially registered for the RWA National Conference. I cannot wait. My hubby is coming - he's going to go watch the Tennessee Titans in summer camp. I'm excited and nervous. It's my first conference. And, of course, I had to go all the way and book THE largest conference as my first. Hope it doesn't hurt. Now if Matt Good was playing a show in Nashville, one of the nights (not gala night, though), it'd be perfect. So, yeah, my butt is numb, my back is sore, my story is reWised (hee-hee) and I'm off to watch some tv with the sprog. Talk soon. Website Shenanigans 04/11/2010
Holy S*#@... This website stuff is tiring. I just finished making changes and it's only taken me a gazillion hours. That's an official webterm, feel free to check it out. I can't imagine how freaking-crazy-difficult it would be to actually write HTML or CSS. I use these terms like I actually have an understanding of them. What a sham! I have a friend, he's very handsome, intelligent, and kind...Did I mention handsome? You should check out his websites - www.chainstyle.com and www.phisequence.com. Well, he's given me all sorts of helpful and useful (too very different things) advice about websites. So, I learned from the master and now I have a better looking site. I hope you're happy with it too. I'm still revising my latest novella. It started off wonderfully. I was cruising along and quite happy with the shape of things. Then, bam, I hit a wall. Now I'm convinced, hmm, actually, I'm unconvinced. Let's leave it at that. I'm tired, it's 12:25 am here and time for bed. I hope my grammar and spelling aints tooooo bad, because I'd not editing. I'm posting to the web and logging off. Good night. On-line Courses and working on revisions... 04/02/2010
I just finished an online course at www.savvyauthors.com. The facilitator was none other than the fabulous Ms. Holly Lisle. I loved it. She's spectacular at laying out a process. If you're anything like me, I love to see the process. When I read how other writers sort their junk, I always attempt to envision it. Holly lays it all down and then shows examples of her own work. Way cool. And the group is made of people just like me. And here I believed I was alone. For a solitary pursuit (writing, I mean) there are a ton of outlets and places to go to meet and speak with people going through the same motions I am. The writing community amazes me. So many people willing to share and help. I am revising a novella at the moment and this course really helped. I don't have a 7-day deadline, so it's not so stressful. But I still want to turn it around quickly because there's actually someone out there that wants to read the revision. Guess what? It's not my mom. Anyhow, what do you think of the writing community you've encountered so far? Let me know, I'm a curious sort. DABWAHA 03/27/2010
Have you been voting? Yeah, me too. I hate when I forget and get there too late. I love seeing all the author's pimp their books and all the fans and friends going bananas voting. Good stuff. I couldn't participate in the Second Chance tourney, though. Kept telling me I was too late. When I wasn't! I probably shoulda sent an email, but I'm lazy that way, so I can't really complain. Who are you voting for? Who is your champ? I chose Larissa Ione. It was tough with Nalini Singh as a choice. From the entire line-up, and of the books I read (which were few), Ecstasy Unveiled and Angel's Blood were my faves. And since I harbor a huge crush on Lore, I had to vote for him. (Don't tell hubby.) Don't forget to vote. And if you haven't participated...get busy! Boo-Hoo 03/20/2010
So, I can't actually figure out how to move my posts from wordpress to here. Boo for me. I'll get over it. In time. Welcome... 03/15/2010
